This painting has been in the works for a few weeks now. It was one of the first gardens I started painting, but something didn't feel quite right. So I set it to the side, and let me mind wander about what it needed. Finally, after going through a few more paintings, the answer hit me... more color!
It's amazing how much I learn with each new painting, and the past few have lead me to experiment with bold color. So I decided to bring those techniques into this piece, and it's exactly what it needed! The blue shadows and pops of vibrant orange brought everything together so beautifully.
