This piece is inspired by a reference photo that I passed over many times because, at first glance, it seemed messy and poorly lit. I came back to it with fresh eyes 2 weeks ago and saw so much potential. Those dark areas were places of depth and the withering flowers were pops of unexpected color. I think the “faults” that I first found in the composition turned out to be some of it's biggest strengths.
The manner of it's creations also echoes the overall message of positivity I hope this piece brings you. I hope it inspires you to look for the good in every day, fine beauty in unexpected places, and live life with a stop-and-smell-the-roses-mentality.
