This painting is inspired by a morning ritual I have with my daughters - a walk in the park. We have this one specific spot we always stop at to throw rocks into the water. It’s such a simple, repetitive thing, but it’s become a moment to pause and just be together. My 2 year old LOVES rocks so its always a highlight of her day. On the morning I captured this, the wind was really whipping through the trees, and I became obsessed with the way the leaves were dancing. We had been walking under that heavy Texas sun, and the second we hit the cool shade of our "rock-throwing spot," I felt this huge sense of relief. I wanted to bottle up that feeling - the movement of the air, the sound of the splashes, and that fleeting, quiet peace before the day gets busy.
